Today sees the opening of Skill Town at Hackney Wick Community Center.

It is to be 1st ever dedicated indoor space where ALL street sports and urban arts can train, use as a meeting up zone, jam area, learning area all under one roof.
FREE Wifi available in the whole building and there is also a cafe area.

Located at – 80 Eastway, Hackney Wick, London ( a stones throw away from the Olympic Stadium)

The area is open to all street sports artists and is a free training area for any street sport or urban artist. If you are a parkour artist, breakdancer, beatboxer, freestyle footballer, street dancer, break dancer, freestyle basketballer, BMX flatlander, trial biker, haki sack artist, capoeira artist…. or any other street sport or urban art related artist feel free to come down and view the new indoor training space.

From the 19th to the 20th of May 2012, Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort in South Africa comes to life again for the My Culture Resurrection Jam. Hosting a diverse medley of urban sports and arts from BMX and FMX to break dancing and agressive inline along with live band performances, Resurrection Jam 2012 promises to be another biggie on the South African Street Scene.

Streets United recently visited Paris, France and soon realised, you don’t need to visit the Musée du Louvre to exoerience true Parisian master pieces. All it takes is  a simple stroll

On the 20th of May this year, Johannesburg, South Africa will be transformed into the ultimate obstacle course. The Jump City Turbovite Urbanathlon will see competitors take to the streets of Newtown, Johannesburg for a grueling 10 kilometer parkour trail designed by Parkour South Africa. Competitors will run either as induviduals or as teams of two. The event is sponsored by the City of Johannesburg in partneship with 100 Plus Isotonic to name a few, and will feature Streets United affiliated free runners sponsored by New Balance South Africa in the competition fold.

Streets United sent one of our football freestylers to create a Nivea for Men fan page Video. The video shoot incorporated Ivory FC, who are a local football club that Nivea has been working closly with, bringing in professional coaching and covering their progress as they have climbed up to the top of their football league. Andrew Henderson amazed the Ivory FC players by performing in front of them freestyling with a variety of typical household items including : toilet rolls, cabbages, crisps, apples, melons,etc… In the video Andrew demonstrates various football freestyle tricks and asks the Ivory FC guys to replicate them. The video will be featured on Nivea’s various fan pages on Facebook and Youtube.
